Having already established herself as a top actress in Telugu industry, she became a national crush of sorts (before the term even was coined) with Tere Naam & her portrayal of Nirjara.
Any idea why she couldn’t make it here despite being a decent actor with good screen presence? Was it because of poor luck & script choices or because she lacked the ability to pull off glamorous roles like her contemporaries Bebo, Aish, PC & Kat did? Do you think she would’ve been more successful if she did Jab We Met instead of Bebo? Imagine her pulling off Geet, perhaps it wouldn’t have been as iconic. Perhaps she didn't have the backing of a production house or a godfather-like figure which is necessary to thrive in the industry.
Although she achieved considerable success in South, she will forever be remembered as a one hit wonder in BW, which is a shame considering she had a bunch of memorable movies & characters in South, she even succeeded as a solo lead there.
